While the authorities are forcing French people, especially young people, to be vaccinated, the anti-pass and anti-Covax remain mobilized and demonstrate to refuse this health diktat.
For the eighth consecutive Saturday, they are there. Even if Macron doesn’t want them to, as they say, they are still there, pounding the pavement in more than 150 cities in France. With the same slogans, the same signs, the same flags and the same determination. They are there to refuse the health pass, the compulsory vaccination, the approximations and even the lies of the health authorities.
Vaccinated by obligation
Certainly, France should cross in mid-September the threshold of 50 million first-time vaccinations. Not that a majority of French people have been convinced of the benefits of vaccination against Covid-19, but by obligation. Just to be able to go to a restaurant or a museum, to go to a gym or simply to continue working. Because without the health pass, a boss can fire you. You get vaccinated because you are under a strong constraint.
It is a kind of rape of conscience that those who demonstrate every Saturday do not accept. This is why they call for freedom. The freedom to be vaccinated or not because, until now, scientists are divided on the interest of these new vaccines. Some even say that the vaccine is worse than the disease for some patients!
But the government is sticking to its guns. It is now targeting the vaccination of young people aged 12 to 17, for whom vaccination centres have been set up near schools, while more and more scientists are expressing serious reservations about the vaccination of children and adolescents.
The scientific controversy continues. So do the demonstrations.
